The Sunday School hosts the annual Operation Christmas-child shoebox appeal on behalf of Samaritan’s Purse. The 2007 boxes from the Church, other churches in the Circuit and two other churches, plus some from local schools went to various places in Eastern Europe. This appeal keeps several members of Sunday School busy for several weeks, and Sunday School organises a special Shoebox Sunday.
Sunday School also receives various items for recycling etc. Collections of Christmas cards, stamps and spectacles are sent to charities or are used to raise funds for charities.
During 2007 the Church raised over £3000 for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in the Solomon Isles which hit on April 2nd 2007. The Church has links with the Solomon Isles through two of its members. The Solomon Isles lie about 1200 miles off the north-eastern coast of Australia.
